The main purpose of a blast coupling is to promote safety of use and to extend the lifespan of blast hoses. By securing a blast coupling onto the hose, a solid connection is formed to facilitate a smooth flow of materials. It can also protect the hose tubing from the tension created during the flow of materials when it is fixed onto the opposite side. A blast coupling may also be used directly below the hose head to protect the tube string from abrasion.
